New train stations in Branford, Clinton, and Guilford were opened to the public in the fall of 2005. Branford and Clinton stations include south side platforms. Guilford station features a pedestrian bridge connecting the south side platform to the north side parking lot.

Improvements to the Madison Station were completed in the fall of 2008.

Westbrook station upgrades are currently under design.

The design and construction of all stations will allow for the future expansion to up-and-over facilities as part of the Governor M. Jodi Rell's Transportation Initiative to rebuild, replace, and improve rail transportation in the state.
