Lighting of the new Pearl Harbor Memorial (Q) Bridge will consist of the following elements:

  • Security Lighting – A total of 16 metal halide pier lighting fixtures will be used below the bridge deck to illuminate the lower portion of the piers and bases.
  • Main Tower Lighting – A total of 16 fixtures will be mounted on the exterior of the parapets and a total of eight fixtures will be located at the tower bases. These 24 fixtures will illuminate the outside faces of the main towers faces.
  • Pylon Lighting – A total of 16 fixtures on the outside of the parapets along with eight fixtures at the pylon bases will be used to illuminate the outside of the pylon faces.
  • Cable Lighting – A total of 11 metal-halide lamps will illuminate each of the 16 cable blocks.
  • Span Lighting – If the bridge is constructed of concrete, reflective material instead of lighting fixtures will be used on deck wall surfaces. Glowing surface mounted diffused frosted glass industrial fixtures will be used if bridge is constructed of steel.
  • Memorial Lighting – Three Xenon lamp beam tracker lights at each of the center two towers will point up toward the sky for use on select holidays.
